November’s meeting will be at: Chandler Downtown Police Station 250 East Chicago Street Chandler, AZ 85225 The Police station is a block east of Arizona Avenue – behind City Hall (the big tall building in downtown Chandler). Chicago Street is not a major street. Goggle map it for more information. Directions: If you come down Arizona Avenue (Country Club) from the north, you will see a light at Boston Street and the TALL City of Chandler building on the left. The next street after Boston is Chicago (there is no traffic light). Take a left, go through the 4 way stop. On your left you will see the Municipal Courthouse. Turn into their parking lot and the police station will be off to the right. There is no reserve parking that I saw. You can also take the 101 to Chandler Blvd, east to Arizona Avenue and then take a left (south) to Chicago. Wednesday, November 9, 2016 “There’s HOW many things to track for special events???” Most of us love attending the valley’s not-for-profit galas. Fancy dresses, upscale meals and beverages, entertainment, and the opportunity to network with others who support the organization. It’s a great way to raise money for charitable organizations, however, for the accounting department, it can become quite the nightmare. For this CFAC session, we will discuss the accounting requirements for sponsorships, tickets, auctions, and raffles not only for GAAP, but also for 990 reporting. Come learn and discuss not only the “how,” but also the “why” we are required to report event income and expense the way we are. *Note: These sessions are intended to be informational; all attendees are encouraged to seek legal counsel to help guide them through the process.
