Combination Pipefitter / Welder – Fabrication Shop

Comfort Systems USA Southwest is a leading commercial mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems across Arizona. We are seeking an experienced Combination Pipefitter / Welder to join our fabrication shop team supporting commercial and industrial projects.
 

What You’ll Do:

- Layout, fit, and fabricate piping spools and assemblies from shop drawings and isometrics
- Weld pipe using SMAW (Stick), GTAW (TIG), and/or GMAW (MIG) per approved WPS
- Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper piping
- Safely operate shop equipment (band saws, bevelers, grinders, etc.)
- Maintain quality, productivity, and safety standards in a shop environment
 

What We’re Looking For:

- 3+ years of pipefitting and welding experience in commercial or industrial construction
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and isometrics
- Strong fit‑up, layout, and welding skills
- Experience working in a fabrication shop environment
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
 

Preferred:

- ASME Section IX or AWS welding certifications
- OSHA 10/30
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
- Experience with hydronic, HVAC, or process piping
 

Position Details:

- Full‑time, fabrication shop position
- Occasional overtime based on workload
- Arizona‑based shop with limited field support as needed
