Direct Support Professional - Community Living
Description Chandler/Gilbert Arc (CGArc) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. CGArc believes all persons should have the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential and is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help achieve that mission. Direct Support Professionals provide support for individuals in community-based homes and are responsible for teaching life skills. CGArc offers a fun, rewarding work environment with a variety of benefits and opportunities across the East Valley. Many positions require being an approved company driver, though some non-driving roles are available.
Responsibilities

Developing rapport and cultivating supportive environments and relationships with individuals supported.

Assisting individuals with personal care tasks such as eating, bathing, toileting, and other daily living activities.

Assisting individuals with household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and laundering.

Promoting community inclusion and integration so individuals are active members of their home and community.

Escorting or transporting individuals to vocational/day programs, social activities, and errands; encouraging public transportation when applicable.

Participating in the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISP) and ensuring directives follow state standards.

Compiling all required documentation for services in compliance with state, federal, and company policies.
Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.

High school diploma or GED required.

Eligible drivers must have a clean 39‑month MVD report.

Ability to obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card and pass a criminal background check.

Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills preferred.

Experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities preferred.

Important Notes Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is not required. CGArc seeks compassionate individuals who enjoy working with disabled individuals and have strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in residential settings with other special‑needs populations may be considered. Training is provided. Employment offers are contingent on reference verification and completion of required training. All employees must maintain a current Fingerprint Clearance Card.
