Quality Manager - Prefabrication
POSITION SUMMARY
The Prefabrication Quality Operations Manager is a working leader responsible for executing and standardizing quality processes across all Prefabrication product lines. This role actively manages quality KPIs, certification compliance, and warranty performance while partnering daily with operations.
This position builds structure, drives accountability, and ensures quality performance is measurable, auditable, and continuously improving. This role serves as the quality extension of the Vice President of Enterprise Quality, ensuring that strategy, planning, and decisions translate into consistent, measurable prefabrication execution. The position operates through influence, operating cadence, data, and standard work, not through direct people management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality KPI Execution & Reporting
Develop, maintain, and publish standardized Prefab quality KPIs
Ensure consistent definitions across all locations
Build and manage reporting dashboards
Track:
First Pass Yield
Rework Rate
Nonconformance Rate
Inspection Turnaround Time
Cost of Poor Quality
Warranty Claims and Exposure
Facilitate monthly quality reviews with site leaders
Identify trends and escalate systemic risks
Certification & Audit Management
Manage UL Panel Shop compliance requirements (where applicable)
Coordinate internal audits and external certification audits
Maintain certification documentation and readiness checklists
Track corrective actions to closure
Partner with site teams to close gaps
Warranty Management & Field Feedback
Administer standardized warranty intake and tracking process
Lead root cause investigations
Coordinate corrective actions across engineering and operations
Track warranty costs and report financial exposure
Establish feedback loop from field to shop
Nonconformance & CAPA Management
Maintain Prefab nonconformance log
Ensure containment actions occur within defined timelines
Lead root cause sessions using structured methodology
Track repeat issues and systemic patterns
Standardize documentation templates
Process & Standardization Support
Develop and maintain standard work for inspections and quality documentation
Align quality documentation with Business Management System (BMS)
Support Operational Excellence initiatives
Assist in embedding quality checkpoints into production workflows
Develop and maintain procedures for supplier quality and procurement health
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
5–8+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or industrialized environments
Experience managing 3rd party certifications (UL, ISO, or equivalent)
Certified Auditor is a plus
Strong capabilities with performance management and root cause analysis
Exceptional communication, facilitation, and organizational skills
